In the new internet home business market, it is so hard to know where to start. There are so many ways to market online today, that you have to find a way that not only works for you but that also doesn’t break the bank. Probably the easiest and quickest way to generate traffic is to use pay per click but this can be very costly and can take a lot of time to figure out how much you can spend on your keywords, other ways are ezine articles and blogs.

When Starting out on this venture, all these ways to market your internet home business can be very frustrating for someone who is not a techie and doesn’t know his or her way around all the various ways to do this. I have found the easiest thing to do is look for a mentor,who will show you all the different steps you can do to get your home based internet business off the ground. Most of the mentors out there have come up with some kind of automated system, whereby, you still have to work at whatever program you are marketing, but things like following up on your email lists are going to be done automatically for you, because you have heard it before, the money is in the list.

Another thing to keep in mind is whatever product you are selling should generate good income, as it stands to reason, would you prefer to sell ten items a week and earn $350.00 or one item and earn $3500.00? So look for a high end product if possible and one that can generate a future residual Income that will help you get out of the rat race and be recession proof. There are many Mentors to chose from so pick one that’s right for you and continued success in your quest for future income.

Before You Start Internet-Affiliate Marketing – Figure Out What You WANT! (and Don’t Want)



Thousands and thousands of regular Joes, with high hopes, start internet marketing everyday. There is no shortage of programs to choose from, either..the choices are mind-boggling! What is a Newbie to do?

Now, I am NOT a Guru. Not even close. lol However, I HAVE been Marketing online for over 2 years and went from not knowing how to copy and paste, to having my own Website, Affiliate Marketing and Writing Articles..Advertising..Networking..the list goes on and on. I certainly understand how people get confused and stuck on the minute details.

So, hopefully, my hard-learned lessons will help someone else.

First and foremost; if it seems too good to be true, it probably IS too good to be true.

Remember that one, definitely.

Secondly, before you decide on a program, check it out first. Google the Program name and Scam. See what pops up. The good thing about the internet is that TONS of information is there at your fingertips. The bad thing about the internet is that TONS of information is at your fingertips.lol Confusing, huh?

Here is what I mean..there are SOME people that shout SCAM that just haven’t done what they are supposed to do to make it work! (They didn’t follow the directions.)So, the program isn’t a scam. But, you can find where they have written that it IS a Scam.

You have to decide for yourself who to believe and who to trust. If there are a LOT of people screaming Scam, it probably is.

Here is an example that I learned the HARD way…

I bought a program called Dollarzblaster. The concept is a good one, in my opinion. However, I followed their directions exactly; actually, did MORE than their directions. What did I get for all of my work? They never set up my webpage. They gave me a useless Affiliate Link and never answered any of my emails. $35 down the tubes.

Money for nothing is the perfect description of what a Scam is..and my money spent on Dollarzblaster got me nothing but heartburn and a stress headache.

Unfortunately, there are also programs that are ENDORSED as doing what they are advertised to do. But, you can STILL get screwed, as their Affiliate.

I am torn on this one, because the program really does get the results they promised.
3hrprofits.com~Program works, but some of what they do is unethical and in my lawyer’s opinion, illegal.

Apparently, 3hrprofits had a problem with SOME of their Affiliates Spamming. So, their brilliant idea was to keep ALL of the Affiliates’ checks for that month to pay the spamming fines!(No, I was not one of the Affiliates that Spammed.)

I would have sued. I was that mad. But, my lawyer said that while what they did IS illegal, it would cost WAY too much in time, money, Court costs and stress to be worth suing them. $159 down the tubes for that month..sigh..

Sometimes, you just can’t win for losing.lol

Now, I am not going to give you a bunch of my Affiliate links and try to get you to join them. Well, not in this article, anyway. lol

But, I did want to let you know what kind of Marketer I am. And what other kinds of Marketers there are out there, too…

I am CHEAP, big time! (My Dad trained me well.) I don’t try to get people to spend a lot of money on a Program as I won’t spend a lot of money on a Program. So, I tend to advertise for lower-priced programs and deal more in quantity. Just my personal Marketing choice. I am a big believer in multiple streams of income… AND not draining my customers of their last red cent!

If you are just starting out in Marketing, there is going to be a LOT of choices for you to make. Trust me on this; you won’t always make good choices. But, getting Scammed does make you learn, FAST!

Through all of this, I have tried to stay honest and I have learned a lot in the last 2 years. I still have a LOT more to learn. Definitely!

But, I can face myself in the mirror everyday, just fine. I hope the choices YOU make in this business will allow you to do the same.

* Hard to tell if people are lying because you can’t see their face

* And you can be overloaded with information.

There are more Advantages Disadvantages Of Internet Marketing, but I wont cover them all in one article. However I will focus on a few important ones.

Positives:

Low cost:

The internet is made up of electrons, so there is not really anything physically to grab hold of like in a brick and mortar business. This considerably reduces your costs as you don’t really need many materials or buildings. Just a computer with world wide web capabilities : )

Very fast:

A great advertisement I saw once said “If you were an electron, you would be there by now”. This was an ad at an airport. It’s referring to the internet. It’s made up of electrons so it’s VERY fast. Click a link, and you could be looking at an Australian website, click another one and you could be in America. If you wanted to get information any other way from these countries, you may end up having to go there.The world wide web eliminates the need for this. Go any where you want with the click of a button.

You can reach a global audience:

By this I mean, you don’t have to set up shop somewhere and sell to the locals. You can set up an online shop, and sell to anyone in the world. This means a huge increase in potential revenues and a fraction of the cost it would take for you to set up shops all over the world.

Negatives:

Can leave the businessman feeling isolated:

This is very common. Because the world wide web is faceless (In most cases), it can appear cold and inhuman. This can leave you feeling isolated and very inward. Not a nice feeling at all. Everyone likes to socialize and meet people, but in this case, its quite difficult to, in business anyway.

Hard to tell if people are lying:

There is so much information on the world wide web now, it’s sometimes hard to tell the difference between crap and quality. A lot of the crap is targeted at newbies. Here’s an example “Make money fast by doing NOTHING”, sound familiar? I bet you’ve had a ton of emails saying something similar.

Information Overload:

Once again we get to the part of there being a lot of information on the world wide web. There can be too much good information too. There can be a lot of competition for an industry, this can leave you more confused than if there were presented with loads of crap. You might not be able to tell who to chose. If you are a veteran of the net, you wont have much to worry about, however if you’re a newbie then this is a problem.

The above are the positive and the negatives. Overall, I would definitely say that if you can do business online, then definitely do it.

Do you have a plan to market your internet business?

Let me give you a few pointers that will help you get started. If you follow these simple steps it will help your page rank and you will be ranked much higher with your targeted keywords.

Step #1 Find the right Keywords: Many internet entrepreneurs are wasting a lot of time writing articles, submitting to directories and so on without knowing what keywords are going to drive in the most traffic. Go to freekeywords.wordtracker.com and type in a word you think people search for everyday. If you run a Baseball Pitching Website like I do you can start by typing in the word Pitching. It will bring up a list of keywords or keyword phrases that contain the word Pitching. Next to the keyword it will tell you how many people type in this word on a daily basis. The higher the number the better it is. Now you need to figure out how much competition each keyword or keyword phrase has. Go do a Google Search! Once you are there, type in allintitle: “pitching” or whatever your keyword is. If the result is greater than 35,000 when you begin your business, try another keyword that isn’t so competitive. Choose only 5 KEYWORDS to begin with.

Step #2 Market your Keywords: There are literally thousands of ways to market your website. I will only share a couple marketing tips with you, but these tips will give you enough experience to point you in the right direction and help you find other ways to generate traffic to your site.

Internet Marketing Tip#1: Submit your site to Directories. Visit addurl.nu. As of today there are 910 directories listed on this site; the number of directories changes almost daily. By each directory you will find each directories page rank (the higher the better for you). I wouldn’t recommend you pay for any directory when you first get started. Start submitting to these directories using your keywords or phrases as the Title. Many internet entrepreneurs make the mistake of cramming in as many keywords as they can in the Title category. You only want one keyword or keyword phrase in each Title. This is tedious work, but well worth the time and effort. Make a goal of submitting to 10 directories a day.

Internet Marketing Tip #2: Article Submission: Content, content and more content is the key to your internet success. Not only should you have articles about your keywords or phrases on your own site; you should submit your articles to other sites. You can start submitting to these websites and go from there:

EzineArticles (my favorite); GoArticles and Articlecity.

Again, there are thousands of these article submission sites. One thing you need to understand when submitting articles is that you can’t submit the exact article on every site. The Title and content of each article has to be unique or the article can be rejected. You can use the same article; just change about 20% of it to make it unique. The first 200-250 words are the best to change. Don’t forget to change the Title of the article as well.

Step #3 Put a Blog on Your Site: Blogging is great in many respects, but one of the greatest things a blog can do for you is create a buzz on your site. People love to write. The more they write on your blog the more content you have. It is search engine friendly to add content to your site on a daily basis. With a blog, people will help you do that without you at your desk. What you want to do with your blog is put as many keywords or phrases in each paragraph and link the keywords to your products you are promoting. Links within your site also help with SEO (Search Engine Optimization)Now that you have some simple steps to market your site you need to get busy writing and submitting. Here is a simple plan to start with so you won’t be overwhelmed. Take 1 ? hours of time out of your schedule five days a week. For each day of the week, focus on one of your keywords of phrases.

Example:

Monday: Baseball

Tuesday: Football

Wednesday: Hockey

Thursday: Tennis

Friday: Basketball
