I found a listing on Craigslist for a medical sudy. The listing said it will last 20 days and at the end, will recieve $1400.
I wrote the person from the ad and just asked for more info.
In the Email, she said it will last for 30 days and at the end will recieve $1500.
There was a website I had to go to to get the pills (RezEx–a diet pill) and it cost me $1.99 s/h. I paid with my debit card.
I also had to email her my name and address. I did it.
Hours later, I was thinking I probably made a mistake. I went back to that site and read the terms and conditions that I should have read before and found out that by signing up for the free trial of RezEx, you are also signed up to recieve it each month at full price unless you cancel within 14 days. I emailed the RezEx company and told them I want to cancel the trial and the future purchases.
THEN I go back to my email, and the link she had sent me now does not go to the site it originally went to. And she also spelt RezEx wrong and the company she wrote under her name does not come up when searched in Google. Also, the bottom says that that company is not affiliated with RezEx.
Was I just scammed? What should I do? Just watch my bank account? Or tomorrow call the bank and have a new card sent to me? I am really scared.
I just cancelled my debit card. Tomorrow I will call the bank and have them issue me a new one and review my account. THANKS FOR ALL THE HELP!!!

Yes, it looks like you were scammed. First thing in the morning, call your bank to terminate your debit card.

It certainly does sound like you were. If possible do not wait until your bank branch opens. Look for an 800 number on your debit card and call that number. They can go ahead and cancel the card. Then tomorrow you will need to call your bank to get a new one. The sooner you can cancel your card the better.
Also, if at all possible be sure to give the bank the email address and any other information you can so someone may be able to catch this person.

You definitely should call your bank and ask for their advice. Do it as soon as possible. They may have a way of blocking payment to that company or they may be able to tell you the correct name of the company that took money from your account.
